My poor water bottle stirling died before I could test it :'( R.I.P I didn't realise the piece of wood I used was actually two pieces of wood jointed together.... They came apart with the heat. Gave a nice view of the displacer though lol. It was working well before the wood split. Also shows new diaphragm which can be removed and replaced without sealant.

  • i have an inprovement. . . Instead of pouriing water on it over and over, why dont you make a bowl type object and submurge part of the tube in water when the bowl object is full of water

  • @mathew1929 The pouring of water was just to show the viewers the leak. Normally I submerge the engine in the bath to find any air leaks.

  • @specallez what is your job

  • to mend this you could have used uhu or water proof woodglue and removed the diaphragm.whilst sucking the glue would be drawn into the crack.

  • hi, can you tell me is the metal valve situated on top of the displacer cylinder for pressure release at high temp or is it to bleed the cooling system?

  • Sorry about the cracked wood. I had a tiny crack appear in my poplar wood piece but since it's a beta version and the diaphragm pretty much seals up against the water bottle there was no effect on the engine, lucky for me. I like your quick access to the diaphragm but isn't there quite a lot of dead space in there? Just wondering.

  • Muy bueno y muy explicativo y original el diafragma que le fabricaste , queria saber que material es y el desplazador debe ser de lana de acero com trama de mosquitero ....confirmame si es asi......Un abrazo

  • Your projects under development are really interesting, especially your last stirling (with alternator). I think the exploitation you developed on various forms of realization of a Stirling engine are the result of effort and commitment. I'm currently developing an engine in larger scale and with more cylinders (4), and I think you could also try to develop one with your immense experience.Sorry I tell you ideas, but I think we should try to increase maxium torque on this engines. Good work!!!

  • oohhhhh poor engine

next time try to made it totally from metals
