Brigham Young squeaks out a nail-biter against Air Force 54-49 on Senior Night in front of a sold-out crowd of 22,700 at the Marriott Center. BYU honored seniors Lee Cummard, Archie Rose, and Gavin MacGregor.
Once again BYU was plagued by poor shooting in the first half going 0-11 from the three-point line. After several lead changes that were too close for comfort, Jonathan Tavernari and Lee Cummard turned it up and helped BYU pulled away in the final 90 seconds.
BYU clinched its third straight Mountain West Conference basketball regular season title and now enters the 2009 Mountain West Conference Basketball Tournament as the number one seed.
