FAT GIRLS FLOAT

Help fund us at : http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1791863791/get-in-the-pool-with-fat-girls...

an independent documentary in which 300lb. filmmaker Kira Nerusskaya takes the audience on a journey through international fat subculture, giving fat women from four counties an opportunity to have their say. Despite many glares, glances, and gloating from media, family members, medical communities and the public-at-large; fat women from four countries (England, France, Russia, and the United States) tell their tales of sorrow and success, wow and woe; discussing size discrimination, political activism (fat and size acceptance), and social networking communities. These fat women show how they need to rise above what the world thinks of them and point out their ability to overcome societys condemnation of their bodies through compassionate perseverance. In essence, fat girls float because they do not let their weight weigh them down. http://fatgirlsfloat.blogspot.com/

  • this is hilarious - people making negative fat comments really need to step off their geneticly superior gene stool. just because someone is skinny doesnt mean they are healthy. I know a lot of skinny girls that never workout and eat fast food everyday but they were 0-4 sizes? obese people def need to get their fitness on but I am soooo shocked at the comments on here, either you all are in middle school or someone didnt love you enough

  • @tomroxelf True that. You know the easiest way to disprove of the fat gene? Find it in Africa. Find it in eastern Europe. Find it in most of Asia. You won't. Not because people there don't have the fat gene, it's because it doesn't exist. It's a wonder it only exists in America, UK, France and a few other 1st world countries with cheap and shitty food. The majority of the world is normal, only if you eat tons all day can you get FAT. Calories in = calories out. Fatties gonna fat.

  • @r1pvanwinkle Yes it is, that's why it's called being OVERWEIGHT. And where did I say that being underweight was good/better? Neither should be acceptable in a modern society.

  • @NegerPlease I am not saying that being OBESE should be socially acceptable, my only point was being overweight is NOT an indicator of poor health just like being skinny is NOT an indicator of good health - don't be so simple minded to judge "a book by its cover"

  • Addiction is socially acceptable and encouraged by businesses so they can turn a profit IE cigarettes, caffeine, shopping, beauty, alcohol but this food addiction that allows obesity to thrive is not acceptable because it's not pleasing to the eye they are merely the product the American society.

  • I think it's funny how we tolerate one addiction over the other. All bodies react differently to ingredients in our food. Someone with a high metabolism can eat high fructose corn syrup and say a skinny mini, another person can consume the same amount and gain weight. There is a lot more to this problem then what meets the eye. Again, I am not condoning obesity - just an open mind. Like a teacher once recommended "Open a book BEFORE you open your mouth"

  • @r1pvanwinkle I think that's because some social norms are there because the opposite is unnatural? There's one thing to be chubby, but this wheigh is purely unhealthy, you can't even compare the things. And no, making it socially acceptable to be this fat is not a good thing.

"YAY OBESITY!" is bad, if I need to spell it out for you.
