@duck2dodger Ditto. I was born in 67 too. I remember things like riding bikes around the neighborhood and to the store after dark, and of course we didn't have cell phones. That seems like another planet compared to these days.

Better CLOTHES? Riding a bike in flare leg pants almost got me KILLED, and made me late for dinner because it tore the chain off my bike, so I'll disagree with you on that score. And I was not wearing a helmet, of course, because we would have beaten the crap out of a kid who wore a helmet just to ride his bike. (And rightly so. Our skulls were thicker, dammit.)

@wannawatchu66 That's very rare, the media lies about that shit. Keep in mind they are legally allowed to lie and they rake in huge profits from scare-mongering. In the 70's, sensationalism was minimized because media companies didn't have as much money and power as they do now.
