if we could cut down 60%of emissions just by going electric and that's before we even get to renewable energy sources . imagine the how much more could be cut once we have geo-thermal, wind, wave, tidal, Solar..etc on the table And talk about maintenance there are like 4 moving parts and 0 oil so it's extremely efficient and as time goes by batteries will have more power and will be much smaller. I wont be surprised in 10 years if tesla makes car that can go 600mi and 200mph on a single charge
intial, investors and R&D so that they can develop and infrastructure for mass market distribution. 2007 Tesla Roadster=100k ,2011 Tesla Model S sedan= 50K, and recently Elon Musk said there is a 3rd model in development that will be in 30-40k but after fed and state tax credits and rebates it will actually cost significantly less. (See the trend?)
P.S. Even if every American traded their cars for a tesla and charged from coal we would still produce only 40% of current emissions
Yes, Im sure we would all love 25-40,000 lineup, but what we have to understand is that like with every tech that is new, the initial release is always expensive ,anyone remember the iPhone back in 07? It was $600 and it couldn't do 1/4 of what it does now. Remember HDTV's were thousands of dollars and you only saw them on MTV cribs and had to be rich to have one. now you ca find a nice set 500-700 bucks. That's what happens ,it's expensive so that the revenue can go into back to repaying
@Earthlinked You know what, i'm starting to think that you do want to take this car for a test drive and wish you can drive it home. BUT YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO ADMIT IT LMAO!!!!!!!!!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
@nuen8 You wanna explain that??? Bill Gates will NOT buy a sports car - they want a little more from a car thatn looks!!!! COLLEGE STUDENTS???? Like college will not take everything they've got?? ANd you can bitch and moan as long as ou want - tell me what a GREAT car it is - but if I do not have $110,000 (the starting price for the car) then I AM NOT driving it home!!!!!!! It does not matter WHAT you have - if I cannot afford it at $110,000 - when I can buy a GM car for $20,000!!!!!
@Earthlinked aww, looks who's talking!!! Mr. "I love Republicans"!!!!! I guaruntee you that they will get alot of sales becuase the rich and mostly college students (whose wallets are getting ass raped by tuition lol) are the ones that's going to get alot of people into this movement!!
@nuen8 And if few people buy it - becasue it is so expensive - then what is actually achieved? NOTHING!!!! 500,000 cars are sold every year and 100 are electric - who cares - it means NOTHING!!!!!!!! So stay on you knees to your Mideastern gods and pray they don't get pissed at you - they'll stop the oil flow - and you'll be the one that has to suck harder - than your normal sucking!!!!
There are no washing machines that use a 220V power source, as you stated in your Tesla article. Only dryers and electric stoves use 220 volts.
