I bought mine around 1979 or so. I wanted it for 30m range work. I was army at the time and needed a way of keeping in practice that didn't rely on defence budgets (bring your own tools to work?).
I'm a lazy git....and haven't bothered to look after it.
That hasn't made any difference.
As good now as when I bought it.
The sort of thing that outlives the user. We don't build 'em like this anymore.
I'll give it to my grandson....he'll probably swap it for a video game.

I've just got my HW77 full length rifle in .22 calibre. It's truly beautiful to look at with a really nicely figured Beech stock. Accuracy wise it's only limit is the man shooting it. Best pellets I've found are H&N Field And Target Trophy and RWS SUPERDOMES. Blisteringly accurate at all the ranges I've shot it to. Right out to 60 metres! The HW97 is another, modernised version of the HW77 with a different barrel/underlever latch-up. Excellent rifle but the HW77 is the real McCoy. Just try one!

the hw77 is cheaper but theres no difference in accuracy or quality and i think you better buy this one.
thanks for posting this video. I've been thinking about getting one of these, well its between a HW 77 and an Air Arms Pro-sport. Price isn't much of a problem and I know the pro-sport is much more stylish, but i like shooting with metal sights and the pro-sport has none. so i guess i'll get one of these. have you had good results from yours so far?
