@pazsion quit getting all but hurt

All you did was needlessly endanger an animal, yourself and others who were not knowledgeable or prepared for the proper care due for the situation. Just sad..

The officers should be reprimanded, and use of a fire arm revoked for a period of time. pending a psyche evaluation. You and the officers should be fined for calling the police, and cruelty to animals. Yes there is a law you all broke by killing this animal outright, without reason, in the way that you did. I do not wish for this to happen to you, But please do the proper thing next time. If you can't find help. leave it alone. If it's not attacking anyone. leave it alone.

wow i was wrong about it's age at second glance...very young, it would still be working on it's ability to walk and run etc if i'm guessing the age right. Usually the mother is not far from them at this age.
The proper thing to do is to trap the animal and have it properly diagnosed. The cheapest, laziest most inhumane way to deal with a sick animal is to kill it. Those bullets cost more then the medication and treatment...Plus the time and money wasted using police for a non-emergency.

@pazsion its not very common to see a raccoon wondering around like that during the day since they are nocturnal animals. that coon obviously had something wrong with it for the way it was acting. it could have easily been that the coon could have been very old, plus its typical for coons to carry a lot of diseases as well so the best thing to do was to put the coon down so it didnt suffer or bite someone or another animal and infect them with any diseases.

.40 or .45 to the head end of problem, coons are tough animals.
-
to be honest..if it took three shots than those cops shouldn't be aloud to carry fire arms

@GOLDENFLYWARRIOR If you look at it walk you can clearly see its sick! It was for the best cuz how would you feel if you had the choice to let it live or die and if you let it live it went off and attacked someoen
Well good thing it was put out of its misery.

@Solja2010 Because they're nocturnal animals, so when they're seen in the daylight it typically means they are very sick/dying.
