http://www.pitching.com Phillies Cole Hamel. This demonstrates how Cole Hamel could improve his velocity. Another example why amateur pitchers should be careful of which aspects of a big league pitcher's delivery they copy. http://www.pitching.com
plus when it comes to the beginning of his delivery, he's doing what's comfortable for him because mechanics don't even matter until you've come to a balanced position and start to move towards the plate
@VISHMAN14 No he wasn't, his average fastball velocity was 92 MPH. If you want to see for yourself go to his fangraphs page and scroll down to the pitch type segment. It will show you how often he threw each pitch, and how fast they were thrown. If he was throwing 95 consistently his average fastball speed would be at least close to 94....
One thing his name is HAMELS not hamel. And second this guy already has a world series mvp under his belt, to go along with an lcs mvp. he just came off of the best year in his career. 3.06 era, 200+ strikeouts, 208 ip. hes has the most postseason wins out of any pitcher in phillies history, beating out steve carlton. on top of it all, hes only 27 years old. the fact that you think hes doing something wrong is ridiculous
hmmm hamels last two years he's had an era of less than two. Seems like he can repeat his delivery pretty damn well
