I saw a video of amanda commenting on this scene. She was the one who origionally purposed it along with Cris. She wanted to show just how vunerable Helen was feeling, how truely scared she was at the thought of death and how John could bring comfort to her. Even though Helen would never tell him such or ask for said comfort.

Thats my favourite scene too! I still think they are great, but last time we saw him he was acting badly and I hope there is a way to blame that on whatever is controlling him. I dont like to that it was him helping Adam.

I agree I think that Tesla is better for her too and he really loves her, but not in this possessive way like John does and IMHO Helen has feelings for Tesla too. John is just too egoistical.
