Between all the parties they only spend 26 million plus 1.50 for every vote they got from the last election.

harper knows how Parlamentary systems work. To do what he has done and mutter words like COUP is simply a slap in the face of the established Democratic process. He has reached a new and deeper low by Lying to the Canadian Public- and himself. The last election result produced a number of possible governments and his was the first selected by virtue of his support,full stop.

emceemike, that is my point - the PM doesnt need to be an MP. Traditionally it is, and traditionally its the leader of the party with the most seats, but it doesnt have to be. If the house had enough confidence in a donkey they could elect it PM and that would be legal. The point is this - WE have zero say over who is actually PM. The MPs decide on a PM, not us. We elect them and trust them to make a good decision, but we do not vote for a PM. Learn your political system before you talk.

Alot has changed in those six weeks. An attempt at power by this coalition, a change in liberal leader, and a strong reaction by the electorate to these unexpected events. I would say if the liberals and NDP were confident enough that they could form a government, they should also believe that they can win an election.

dude, legally the house could elect Elizabeth May as prime minister, as long as enough MPs pledge their support for her. Prime Minister doesnt have to be the leader of the party with the most seats, the leader of a party, or even a sitting MP. They only need to be someone that has the support of the House. YOU have no say at all, and you never did. The coalition is legal, sensible, and the best possible way out of this mess. Especially now that Dion is gone.

Everyone calling for a election is straight out of Steven Harpers camp. They know this is the only possible outcome that could assist they're leader back into power hopefully with a majority.
Everyone that is sane isn't mentioning a election BECAUSE WE JUST HAD ONE TWO MONTHs AGO! This just proves harper doesnt care about our economy the way he needs to blow 400 million every month or so.

The Canadian people voted in ALL members of parliament-liberals,conservatives,the NDP,the BLOC,ALL of them!The Conservatives were asked to form a MINORITY govt so they have to make alliances with others.HARPER AND THE CONSERVATIVES HAVE DEMONSTRATED A BLATANT DISREGARD FOR OUR PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCRACY and pushed the other members of parliament to the brink.62% of Canadians did NOT vote conservative!I didnt vote for Stephen Harper and unless you live in Stephen Harpers riding you didnt either.
