In 2009, my buddy Jerry and I ran it standing up in our canoe, like surfing. We made it through the "hard" part, then tipped over in the whirlpool below. In 2004, some of the members of our Boy Scout troop ran it sitting backwards in their canoe. We spent a couple hours running it many over and over.
Great info. I'm an avid canoeist and have paddled many class II rivers in through the canadian shield. I wanted to take some novices on this trip but so many people say this is a tough river. Now I know it's a big joke.
When I went thru it in 1993 there was a tree across the channel with only 3 feet to clear the passage.
