HSR-West Trophy Race - Season Finale at Phoenix International Raceway 2009

For the season finale, we had 22 cars on the grid in a mixed field of BOSS Super Cup (F1, Indy, IndyLights), Formula 2.0 Challenge (F2, F Atlantic, F3, F Renault 2.0, etc) and a split start with the Formula Fords running. At first, I was a bit nervous having the Formula Fords in the same group, but it went surprisingly well. This was my first time at PIR and I didnt know what to expect from this small 1.5 mile track with lots of walls and cement barriers. But, once on the track it immediately felt comfortable and I really enjoyed racing there. After a short four wheels off track excursion thru the gravel during the trophy race, I managed to keep my position and finished 1st in the F9/A class / 6th overall and 2009 points leader in the class championship.
