  • I love this guy.

And it pisses me off that he's one of the only innovators out there, in a world where everyone just wants to ape the past.

  • My favorite artist right now, go Tyondai!

  • Battles are one of my favourite bands and mirrored is definately in my top 10 favourite albums but this........ this is just a pile of "avant garde" shite!

  • @samuelmichaud There's probably a pile of artists I could name, but I never remember when they're needed.

You can add my myspace "follow the noise" lots of interesting people on there(friend list).

    Or FB "Sam Di"

    Peace

  • @dsuleyma Tyondai does have this natural and very strong pull with grooves. Which is very missing from most music out there that have technical complexity. He seems to add more feeling to it basically.

Well I guess I'm not sure here what to give ya. Other than perhaps Lightning Bolt, Hella, and maybe Fugazi... And anything that's related (other projects by members).

Look for the "All Tomorrow's Parties" movie as well. Lots of bands in there, whom might interest you.

  • @samuelmichaud I guess right off the bat I like the use of highly textural sounds. In regards to Central Market, I especially like the range of timbre (digital and acoustic), its, at least, occasional use of melody, and that it doesnt take itself so seriously. At the same time I like to feel unable to stop myself from being absorbed or compelled by the driving groove. (Should go without saying, Battles is one of my favorites)

  • @samuelmichaud Oh and, all answers are good. Anything works.

  • @dsuleyma Sure, but there's lots of stuff out there. I'm no expert yet.

You'll have to answer this question before I can help you out:

What do you like about this music right here?

(If I don't answer, send me a personal message. It may be Youtube not reporting your reply to me)

  • @samuelmichaud Got any recommendations for the uninitiated?

  • FUCK YES.

  • I don't understand the comparisons here. Reich's music is built almost entirely off of phasing and counterpoint. Glass is mostly polyrhythms. This does not follow either of those schools of thought. Harmonically similar, but still a stretch. They are all completely different from one another.

  • that was the most amazing thing ive ever seen
