Been a fan since about 1973. I saw Roy in Pittsburgh in about 1974 - it was my first live concert, about 11th grade. I hardly remember anything he played specifically, but I still recall teh feelling of it when he was playing those slow songs, those creamy solos, bending & screaming. FUnny I don't remember the really fast sections much. Wish I could have seen him a dozen more times.
What no recording of Roy on u tube captures is what happened when he would look straight into your eyes while playing one of those smoking hot solos. It was like someone took a branding iron to your spinal chord.
They used the same clip on an English TV show called The Olde Grey Whistle Test....for some reason when they went to do the show, they weren't able to tape it. So, they used the tape from the German TV show
This is really great old Roy music. I was certain it was from his appearance on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in '73 but now that I see your comments it does look like it may have been in Europe. With better quality video I now notice the odd amps being used and red microphone.

A great thing, indeed, that someone so introspective and troubled could put his hands on an instrument and cream the entire horizon. Beautiful.

Roy Buchanan really was gifted. I remember this from the early 70's. Just amazing, what a great talent.
