@faulknep1 That's because a lot of stations had a Top 40 Format which was not always just tied to rock and roll. There were a lot of popular hits such as this one that made it big out there on the song rotations in those days, and I remember so many of the pop singers like Sinatra, Williams, Bennett, etc. and wonderful instrumentals like this that were just a part of American and even world life back then. So sad it's gone! but we now have this!
Pretty amazing songs like this with arrangements like this were played extensively on rock and roll radio in the sixties. Radio knew what it was doing then. DJ's could please their audiences. Not now. The power of song. We were so young but knew what we liked.
I have this on a 45rpm, but my turntable belt is slipping so I can't listen. Thank you for posting this beautiful classic on here so I can enjoy it! I grew up on Bert!! His music lives on!
Instrumental classics like these are a thing of the past and deserve so much more value than most would give. I remember all of Kaempfert's musci as a young kid
growing up in the 70's and the Easy Listening radio stations that played his stuff.
You just don't hear this music anymore at the doctor's office or even in the elevator.
