There is a new video for Autoweight: Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c33exYs68uk&feature=youtu.be

This is a script developed for 3D Studio Max to speed up the rigging process. It sets the skin weights automatically for a mesh and its bones. The aim is to make it an alternative to normal skin weighting via envelopes.
At the moment it works with Max-Bones and Biped.
You can download a slightly improved version of the script from www.kogenspage.com (Aw0.02). Please understand that the script is definitely NOT final and will serve as a starting point but not as an ultimate solution for rigging at the moment.

  • There is a new video of Autoweight 0.030, feel free to check it out.

  • Comment s'instale le cripts sur 3ds max?

  • @jackfx14100 : The same way you run any Maxscript: Go to the "Utilities"-tab and click on the "MAXScript"-Button. Click on on Run Script and select the Aw-Script. Actually that is all.

  • Holy crap! This is incredible! I hope you continue to develop this. Amazingly useful script, thank you so much.

  • @Pugsakat I've started to continue the development rewriting the script. Hopefully it becomes a more easy to use one-click-solution.

  • Nice. Where can we get it.

  • @mslmanni and everyone who is interested in Autoweight: Please visit my homepage and look for it under "Stuff" -> "Scripts". A slightly improved version (Aw.0.02) with a Help-File included can be found there.

Only thing I have to admit is, that I hadn't had so much time to make big improvements, but it might be helpful as a starting point for character rigging.
