Lennie Peters ( who was the uncle of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts ) died of cancer in 1992 and his only daughter was murdered in recent years by her boyfriend.
This is very well done and deserves to be better known. I'd never heard it before. I've heard some songs a thousand plus times on the radio. Yet there are little gems like this hidden away. Thankfully, it looks as though the internet is letting us escape playlist hell. Hopefully, the days of good songs and good singers will come back when we take the music back into our hands. Lennie has a good voice, we know, but I always felt Dianne harmonised nicely, just enough and no more.

Lennie used to do the rounds in the pubs in the east end of london, then he was known as blind lennie, and sung a lot in the Lion and Key in leyton, my Uncle used to take him around, and being a jeweller made all his jewelery for him

This sure brings back memories! I'm from Midland, Ontario, Canada and my oldest sister went to England back in 1973 or 1974 to visit our grandmother and step-grandfather. Well, when she came back, she had with her a Peters and Lee album (of course I had never heard of them, as I don't think they were played on the radio over here) - We Can Make It. She played it and I listened and really liked it (I was about 10 or 11 at the time). Really like the song, Never My Love. Is there a CD version?
