can anyone suggest some good preachers to listen to if u R a real Christian? (something from this century if at all poss). i've come across loads of messages on youtube that speak against the so-called American gospel, and the points these guys r making r great, but i'm british, came from a totally unchurched, sinful background, and i don't relate to this "we're part of the American Christian culture" stuff.
thnx, no offence meant and i hope none taken.

No offense taken at all. Here are some good resources: Voddie Baucham, Tim Keller, R.C. Sproul, Michael Horton, Ravi Zacharias, Paul Washer, John MacArthur, Sinclair Ferguson, David Platt, Kevin DeYoung, The Gospel Coalition, Ligonier Ministries, Desiring God, and the pastor from this video - Matt Chandler. I would personally recommend you start with 2 books: "The Reason for God" by Keller & "What He Must Be" by Baucham. Follow those up with Sproul's "Holiness of God".

I would add to that list specifically John Piper (he's Gospel Coalition and Desiring God) and would second reading 'The Reason For God'. 'Knowing God' by J.I Packer is heavy but awesome. And finally, if Revelation 19:13,16 are your life verses then Mark Driscoll (also Gospel Coalition I think) might relate to you particularly well.

Whoops. Wrote Desiring God and forgot Piper. Yes, he's legit. The thing to remember is that these are all fallible men with fallible books and sermons. Only the word of God is infallible (and even that is being translated by fallible men). It's a task, but one day you might consider learning Greek, Hebrew, or both. Will add a lot of clarity to your scripture reading.
