Here are the lyrics to this hymn:
All my long I had a panted
For a drink from some cool spring,
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.

Chorus:
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings,
Through His blood I now am saved.

Feeding on the husks around me,
Till my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.

Poor I was, and sought for riches,
Something that would satisfy,
But the dust I gathered round me
Only mocked my soul's sad cry.

Well of water, ever springing,
Bread of life so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.

  • Loved the song, I last heard it in Accra Ghana song by a choir and it brought me to tears also.

  • I know exactly what you mean. The first time I heard it was when my harp teacher played it while i read the lyrics I cried as well, its very moving. Only Jesus can satisfy us. In His presence there is fullness of joy!

  • This is absolutely beautiful. This song is very special to me because my great-great grandmother, Clara Tear Williams wrote the lyrics. Thank you for posting.

  • such a lovely instrument

    ..wish I could play.

  • true

  • Yes, but the last one loved the Lord, He just didn't understand His plan. But as Whitefield said he now understands even better than us here on earth.

  • If I ever have a boy, his name will be Calvin John Sanders, since all the greats are John's; Piper, Calvin, Edwards, MacArthur, Wesley, wait never mind on the last one.

  • Jenny You make me smile!!! Thank You Jay Calvin Sanders
