I loved this movie. Couldnt' understand why it flopped. I wonder if it was released today if their would be more people who appreciate it.

I was 16 when this came out-it had an ENORMOUS impact on me-saw it eight times(yes-eight times!)during it's original theatrical run.It's very special-means more to me than I can say-a fairy tale,one of the most surreal, inspiring,joyous,beautiful,lif
e-affirming films you'll ever see.Thought I was alone in my love for this film,but now I find it's got a cult following!!!There are actually other people out there who feel the same way about it that I do!.This scene has literally had me in tears... -

@MaritimeJustice Don't worry, I am already. Have been hearing lots of deprecating comments about the movie but I don't care, it still remains one of my favourites and a nice (and funny) reminder to give life a chance (I prefer than to "take risk" expression..). :)

Thank you for posting this! Best part of the movie! I'm an atheist, and this makes me envious of the comfort the faithful must enjoy, and makes me cry every time. Whether one believes in a greater power or not, the wonders of the Earth do make us feel small in comparison, and that's a very good thing. We all need to feel humble and enjoy life, not forget and live in a rut like Joe did. Great lesson the film teaches.

I saw this at 3:40 a.m. nine months ago... I have seen the movie on various ocassions before but until then I really understand the meaning of this little part... And I saw my life until then as the same that Joe has lived... working without really living... I quit my job that same day... I started doing what I like most, started my own business and so far... These have been the best days of my life...
Dear god... Whose name I do not know... Thank you for my life... Thank you...
