I haven't seen this film in a great many years, but I remember it being a very good film with an intelligent script and well worked out plot that didn't compromise or sell out on the logic of time paradoxes. For example, if you change history in this movie, the people no longer remember how things were previously. Michael Rennie is a legendary SF actor, great for the part. The younger actor who plays a doctor was a time traveler on a Science Fiction Theatre ep!
Terrible cheap jump-cut effect on the disappearance of the time machine (they didn't even get the cradle registered up), but the dialogue seems intelligent and the actors are good. As a science fiction fan, I can't believe I've never seen this film. I've barely even heard of it. I need to check it out, low budget or not.
Low budget but a compelling story & a veteran Hollywood cast. I wished I'd watched all of this when it was shown on late night local TV way back in the 70's when I was a teenager! THANKS for posting it! Have a VERY happy new year!
love american style credits! joann pflug as an elbowing time panel operator! wendell corey as a drunken sheriff! adam roarke as a local hick....SOMEONE RELEASE THIS ON DVD!
