The Ffaith Programme and ASH Wales laid out 1000 shoes outside British American Tobacco's HQ just before their AGM. BAT products kill 100,000 Africans every year so we thought we'd remind them.

Thanks to Cerianne and Kirstin for coming along and working so hard on the day!!

ASH (Action on Smoking and Health) staged a two part protest outside the HQ of BAT and at their AGM on 30th April 2008. First, they laid 1000 to signify the 100,000 deaths each year due to BAT cigarettes in Africa, then they targeted delegates entering the AGM. Youth groups from Salford and South Wales were involved in the protest, which was also covered by a BBC team with entrepeneur Duncan Bannatyne who is presenting an exposé of tobacco marketing in Africa for braodcast in July

  • What a fantastic video! My Mums sister died from smoking related disease age 52. The fag industry should hold their heads down in shame for the trade they conduct - God will punish them for their sins.

  • Hoping the BAT AGM demonstration goes well this year; we're going to be in attendance!
