As beautiful and relaxing as a train ride with VIA may be, one thing has changed for sure... The price. It used to be the most economical way to travel and given the train has to make the trip; might as well fill er'up... rightly so. However now with inflated prices the truth of the matter is it is cheaper and faster to fly. This is especially true is going over 200kms. (Maybe not in and out of Bathurst as this video pertains to but certainly elsewhere) Bottom line... VIA needs to lower fares.
