  • I now believ that the truth will previal even if its takes decades, I hope pakistan and India Live side by side prosperous, a wonderful person Jaswant, we should remove all those who want nurture hate and wars, Long live pak india

  • A United India was simply not possible in 1947.......The issues had gone very far......Moreover history is history.......It would have been a nightmare with communal riots/insurgencxy etc......

India and Pakistan should reconcile as "friendly-independent nations".......

  • @bapu108 Load of rubbish bapu ji.

1947 was a crime against our common civilisation of more than 7000 years. We need to correct the mistake and work towards coming together in peace.

  • agreed

  • @virendra24bangalore : The conflicts or riots in India today result from visceral contemporary politics in a rapidly growing economy. But, poor politics is easier to deal with than poor national narrative. Unlike that in Pak or Bangladesh, in India we do not rewrite new constitutions or do not debate on the tenets of Indian independence.

Looking at the politics of Jinnah & his league, I think it'd have been impossible to achieve any coherence in independent India that we now take for granted.

  • @NPegasus

That threat looms large on India even today. I don't understand what was achieved after on 1 side we agree for a partition & on other side maintain secular society. Good to talk about. But Indians living it today know. Constitution now invalidates any further partitioning of India but the one in 47 did not save India from riots, conflicts, trust deficit in the secular society later. Those problems are here today & no way to tell if they would/wouldn't have been there if no partition.

  • @maarifalhind123 ,

Blaming/Crediting a single person is not correct. I think Pakistan was formed due to the Spiritual(intellectual) effort of Alama Iqbal , Political effort of M.A. Jinnah , Economic leadership of Jagirdars of U.P./Sindh, labour class struggle for justice of Bengali Muslims and willful agreement of Hindu leadership of Congress..........

  • the partition was a genocide and a nightmare with communal riots. we dont talk about it because it is too painful and the school curriculum doesnt discuss it. . the reconcile part you mentioned was funny. dont you know pakistan by now ?

  • jaswat singh zainabad

  • yaar bapu thanx for ur nice jesture these zionist which r ruling Pakistan wil soon fade away from the face of the earth and PAKISTAN is their to stay

  • Hindsight is always 20-20. Jaswant ignores the possibility that a united India would've had to constantly endure pinpricks; threats of seperation under a loose federation from day one. I believe, the fore-fathers settled for a clean seperation so that they can attempt to build a nation in the way they wanted. Wise decision!

  • But i feel sorry for Pakistan when they beg around the world for money...Someone from I ndian subcontinent when begs is an insult to all Indians...

  • Partition was good for both India and Pakistan....The muslims of Arab countries are rich because of oil...once oil is over they have to pursue more liberal policies for economic development....as far as Pakistan is concerned it has to pursue liberal policies for its development...in an united India with overwhelming muslim population India would have forced to adopt a conservative policy and would have been in disarray...hindu,muslim riot that we see in India would have been far greater....
