I made this last night and it was HARD! Man, working with stretch knits isn't easy. My neck area was messed up...seemed so roomy and I don't know why! My shirt also turned out about 2 sizes too big. I don't know what I did wrong? I followed the video to a T! I know it was me and not Vanessa...but I think imma take a break from stretch knits for a while. Its hard for a beginner!

I suggest watching both my other videos on sewing with stretch knits. It was probably the fabric you used that caused the sizing to be off. I have found that if you use fabric that has spandex or lycra in it and it does have very good recovery after it is stretched that the top will end up waaaaay too big. Try again with a lightweight cotton jersey and see. It does take some practice but you can do it! Good luck!

I just bought an embrodiery machine and I would like you to show us how to emb on Jeans or on this simple tshirt you just made. I wanted to make a shirt like you just did but without sleaves so that you could add butterfly seethrough sleeves...I have ideas but didn't know how to go about making my own patterns - you make it seem so simple. Keep up the good work. :)

Your videos are great, i bought the kenmore you suggested and I was sewing in no time, works great for me, Would love for you to give me an Idea of how MUCH fabric to purchase for say ONE shirt , or one pair of pants, as I think many of us are extra large, and or size 16-18 -- THANK YOU SO MUCH VANESSA

becky- im a newbie too, but i think too me you didnt pick a style shirt that fits WELL, and remember if its stretchy it should or COULD be slightly smaller, with less seem allowance needed cause it will give. I was able to make 12 pairs of shorts for my boy in maybe an hour? ( I just eyeballed where the old sweatpants would fit best for shorts since they fit perfectly at the waist still , I cut below the knee and then ironed it even and sewed away, cutting the remaining fabric, easy peasy
