This is a ride in the lower nineth ward in New Orleans Louisiana where the industrial canal levee failed during Katrina. Brad Pitt has been building energy efficient homes here. see link: http://www.makeitrightnola.org/
@RC62 Time heals all. I've learned not to take things for granted and that we can overcome a lot. Really, we had it a lot better than people had it in past generations. People in the older generations had to take care of everything themselves, there was no government help. It kills me that people sat around and waited....we were in our home and rebuilt within six months...they just took the last of the FEMA trailers a couple of months ago.
@tdebat actually it's not the hurricane that was man made...it's the navigation channel which connects the Gulf of Mexico to the river was developed as a short-cut that is man made. Over the years it has not been used as planned, but got wider and deeper over the years which made this navigation channel a man-made funnel for all the water which the hurricanes winds pushed in. If this "hardly used" channel were not there we wouldn't have flooded. SO...now the government is finally closing it.
@Rudyv123 thank you.....

Really neat tour. Thanks!
Some of the home look pretty nice. I can't imagine dealing with all of the devastation that took place there.
