http://marie-antoinettequeenoffrance.blogspot.com/2009/06/quick-fix-of-femmes... ----Thank you!!!
While I have a great passion for the Tudor Dynasty and all of it's juicy details, I also enjoy reading up on the many wives, mistresses, and courtesans of England & France from the 18th century.
The ladies in this video are just some of the MANY other infamous women of their time. Some of them I like, some of them I'm not as interested in.
However, I will tell you my favorites:
Grace "Dally the Tall" Elliot (Sexy Socialite of England AND France)
Gabrielle, Duchess de Polignac (Marie Antoniette's BFF)
Jane, Duchess of Gordon (Georgiana's rival, 'nuff said!)
Dorothy Seymour, Lady Worsley (Saucy Riding-Habit Trendsetter)

The other ladies in this video too:
Madame Pompadour (Favorite mistress of the King of France)
Mary "Perdita" Robinson (Sweet but Scandalous Actress)
Marie Antoinette (THE Queen of France)
Madame du Barry (Haughty Mistress to the King of France)
Elizabeth Armistead (Mistress of England's Who's-Who's)
Maria Walpole (Not far behind Liz Armistead)
Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire (Infamous Duchess in England)

  • The lady at 3:02 is Marie-Louise-Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun. The extrodinary woman who painting so many of these portraits.

  • No, that is Gabrielle de Polastron, Duchesse de Polignac. But Elisabeth's 'Self portrait in a straw hat' could be easily mistaken with her painting of the Duchesse, they are similar looking.

  • I love like EVERYONE on here

  • I Agree!
