This is a track by composers Edgar Froese, Christoph(er) Franke, and Johannes Schmoelling (AKA Tangerine Dream), from the soundtrack to the 1984 film "Flashpoint," directed by William Tannen.

I do not know much about this film, but I do know that it was the first theatrical release from the television network HBO. Therefore, I believe it was probably originally broadcast as a television film before being released theatrically.

The film stars Kris Kristofferson and Treat Williams as two Texas Border Patrol agents who discover a buried vehicle in the Mojave desert, along with the driver's skeletal remains, a gun, and lots of cash. However, the duo are later plunged into a wild goose chase as they flee from Federal agents who are determined to kill anyone with information relating to the find... (Unfortunately for viewers who rented the film on VHS, the final plot twist was spoiled, so I won't mention it here.)

In keeping with the film's desert setting, the video itself consists of some images of desert scenery. Indeed, the music is certainly quite evocative of a desert environment (which was clearly the intention anyway.)

I wish to give apologies (and thanks) to oilingup, for providing me with the music.
