When I first heard of this syndrome I almost couldn't believe it, but I did some research on it and found out that my friend had spoken the truth. I this isn't offensive in any way, but this is actually a very interesting syndrome. Best wishes and get well soon with the eyesight and other complications you may have.

thank you for your good wishes. it's not a problem that you find it interesting, I do too. it was the second most surreal experience of my life. the first being, projectile vomiting (caused by the aneurysm rupture) I felt like a real life version of linda blair in the exorcist.

Is it recovered yet? Its cool how you mentioned it tried to comfort you, kind of like the immune system. It tries to get out things of the body that hurts such as medicine while it was trying to remove the wires from your chest (I am only 12 so dont insult me if this is a stupid statement :p)

Actually my dear, your extrapolation from what I said about the hand making " comforting"
movements is an interesting insight. Since no one really knows what goes on in this medical oddity, I can say that my hand/ limb would try o help me to do things and just kinda get it a bit wrong (sort of like a young child learning how to do things for the first time.)

Altought it ain't praticed anymore there was a surgery to cure heavy cases epilepsy that had the same side effect. By slicing between the two hemisphere (anterior, posterior or full callosotomy) it would prevent the disorganised electric signals traveling from one hemisphere to the other, thus stoping the epilepsy problem but usually producing the alien hand syndrome. It also appears that damage to the corpus callosum can be caused by strokes, infections, or other types of brain surgery,

From what I learn in school, it is likely a lesion to the Supplementary Motor Area.

Wow, I had to check out this comment. I had a right Middle Cerebral Artery stroke as a complication of my aneurysm rupture and sure enough,MCA damage can affect the corpus callosum. My doctors didn't say anything about the CC, just that what I had was rare and no one really understood why it happens. Thanks!

Sure! Hope that helps some.

Its my belief that the unconscious activity of your left hand was a manifestation of your brain's desperate attempt to reconnect itself together. Many times, I think this takes the form of an action that implies an integration of both sides, such as your hand pulling on the scalp of the opposite side of your body. I wish I could talk to these doctors cuz I also had an experience that was similar and through it, I feel I have a better understanding of my brain :)
