During the 2008 Tokyo Game Show, Namco Bandai Games exhibited "Taiko: Drum Master Wii", the latest video game in the "Taiko: Drum Master" series of Japanese drum based rhythm games.

Players can use the "drum and drumstick" custom controller that comes with the "Taiko: Drum Master" game to savor the exhilaration that comes from freely playing the drums in your own home.

The Wii remote is connected to the drums, which can then be played wirelessly.

The idea is to beat the drums with good rhythm that coincides with the music notes that flow on the screen from right to left. When you see the red notes, you beat the face of the drum, and when you see the blue notes, you beat the rim of the drum. Large music notes indicate that you should use both the right and left drumsticks at the same time, and long notes indicate continuous drumming.

The new video game is scheduled to be released December 11, 2008 at a price of 7980 yen including tax. Additional 'drum and drumstick' controllers can be purchased separately for enjoyment of competitive drum playing.
