Limbaugh & Cheney v. Powell

Today on MSNBC, anchor Contessa Brewer pointed out that Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney, rather than attacking Colin Powell - or as Brewer put it "two guys who have multiple draft deferments are going after a four-star general" - should use their influence and considerable stature within the Republican Party to champion substantive ideas. Powell has already done more for America that the both of them combined ever have or will.

Colin Powell was an Affirmative Action General. Powell says he is a Moderate Republican who shared the same views as John McCain yet he endorsed and supported Obama. You have to conclude that he voted for Obama because he is black. So who is the racist/racialist? In 1996 he stated he became a Republican because the federal govt. has become too large and intrusive. He was for less govt and less taxes. Now, he says Americans want more govt. and will pay more taxes. Those aren't conservative ideas.

powell is clearly a liberal. either he is playing political games or hasnt come to terms yet that hes a liberal.

And what should he change his party into? Another Liberal Party? We already have a major Liberal Party and if he wants to be a Liberal, he should go join it. Socialism, More Government, and Higher Taxes are not what the nation needs and if you think that's what it needs, get your ass in the Democrat Party. The Republican Party should represent the alternative. You got it?

Powell is a patriotic American and a war hero. Limbaugh and Cheney, uh, are not.

Liebermann still caucuses with the Democrats, but I get your point. How many Blue Dogs were telling the Democrat Party that they needed to be more Conservative after they lost the 2000 and 2004 elections?

Powell is just a Republican In Name Only, and if he wants to continue in politics, he should switch to being a Democrat like Arlan Specter and Jim Webb have done in the past few years. He should go where he fits in.

That's not a good comparison. Powell is one of the more liberal people who still uses the "Republican" name. Lieberman does not call himself a Democrat anymore - but even if he did, he is not as conservative as others who also call themselves Democrats, such as the

"Blue Dogs."

Powell telling the Republicans where they need to be makes about as much sense as Liebermann telling the Democrats where they need to go.
