My soprano lyre is a Gartner model made in 1985.

When I visited N. Ireland in 2006, I bought several music notes of Irish tunes.

Eleanor Plunkett is one of my favorites. I added Carrick Fergus, which I have learnt recently from Kantele player.

  • wow this is absolutely amazing sound, so sweet! it's seems like a carillon. ^___^ I love the lyre. very amazing. 35 strings? unbelievable!

  • @vehrkalia Thank you. Recording with mobile phone gives you only a half (or less than it?) of its real sound.

  • Great Video, perfect timing,

  • @pinkaie I wish I could have recorded it with a video camera.... Any way, thank you for enjoying my music.

  • @Liraxtime 35+ strings?!! ow...that's one helluva lyre you got there...more like a portable harp

the best we have over here, only 1 shop and they have a couple of lyres similar to yours, except the highest number of strings is 16 :( :( (and I doubt this here tune could be played with only 16 strings...in fact I doubt any decent tune could be played with 16 strings...)

  • @schwarzfalk This lyre has 35 strings, full chromatic scale. Most of arps are diatonic, with half tone levers/pedals. You may check my latest lyre video with 39 strings (Pensamiento Espanol / Jose Broca) and tell me if you still feel lyre is not suitable for stand-alone instruments.

  • @Liraxtime no doubt ;) but how many strings in this lyre ? it's hard to tell here. I was always told lyres were not meant as stand-alone instruments (unlike harps) because they lack the adequate number of strings...

  • @nachtjenevel You can buy handmade Lyres from samirwinlyres
