@jci10 the gameboy came out in 88, and i wasnt even alive in 83 bro, i was making a judgement on the current state of electronic music, and how the mainstream has ignored *-bit, chiptunes and circuitbending for at least the decade ive known about it.

@FUBUXGEAR 1988? Where you been? Sidplayer has been around since 1983 with tens of thousands of songs. Most were downloaded from Quantumlink back in the 80's with dialup.

Well, the thing here is that Timbaland didn't get the rights to the song and didn't edit in any way at all. All hip-hop artists sample music. Dr. Dre samples but makes a different track with what he samples. Take Fuck Wit Dre Day for example, its all Parliament song samples but has a totally different sound. Theres a difference between sampling music to make a different track compared to straight stealing a song.
