  • These are amazing videos. Made me so happy. and my dad will love these.

  • It still amazes me that Family never made it beyond cult status here in America. They definitely were a great band.

  • @PAULLONDEN Bands without good singers are always severely handicapped. They have some really great albums that get ruined by the singing. They should just stick to instrumentals if they can't get a decent singer. Voice comes first, then style. No style is good enough to compensate for a shitty voice trying to sing out of its range, not even Joe Strummer's but he sang in a punk band so he was able to make that work.

  • @MrFigueroa007 John Wetton of King Crimson did two albums called "Fearless" & "Bandstand" with this band as bassist before joining King Crimson on the Larks Tongues in Aspic album.

  • @MrFigueroa007 The bass player at some point joined King Crimson in the early seventies.

  • Roger Chapman - the father of SCREAMO!!!

  • For some reason this band reminds me of King Crimson, the guitarist creates moods like Fripp and it just seems so epic.

  • I met him and he was cool. Maybe he was having a bad day?

  • Joe McDonald is a total asshole. I met him and he can shove it. Good artist, however. Has his place in history, yes.

  • As i have got older i have grown out of some of this era,but family is still a special case like a stayer that will remain with me like 70's The Who.Roger Chapmans signature bleating belt comes out strongest in this song,i like "holding the compass" and "spanish tide" a lot. I only listen to them in summer as well for some reason...

  • It was because of a missunderstanding with that guy Bill Graham!Somebody threw a mike stand at one gig that narrowly missed Bill's head!

Anyway Bill who controlled all or most big band promotion wouldn,t deal with them,,consequently Roger chapman once said that without USA exposure that got you noticed to sell records ,it never really happened big for them...Although this probably hurt the bands wallet in the long run,it maintained their underground integrity/status as a consequence...
