It seemed as if all was lost, when three Fishbeds showed up to save the day.
This is an alternate ending to the 1964 film "Fail-Safe", where events take a happier turn than those that ultimately transpired in the movie.
P.S. Sorry for the lousy voiceovers.

A thrilling doomsday movie, but there were so many technical details wrong that you really couldn't suspend disbelief. Quick example: the mistaken attack on the USSR was monitored at headquarters with exact locations of the planes shown on a screen, arcade-style. We couldn't even do that now.

@zsqpwxxeh Indeed. And, as many technical experts have already pointed out, if our safeguards against an inadvertent nuclear strike had been as thin as that portrayed in the movie, we would've been wiped out ages ago.
