I've been on and off mediation for 6 years and am still taking it for my pain. I'm in the process of getting off it and finding another way. If anyone is on another med that is less intense but works just as well hit me up. Or if you have any similar experiences let me know what you do to deal with problems.

Peace,
J

  • What worked best for me was slowly reduce the dosage, eventually down to nothing and be sure to keep your mind on other things. Try some addiction help lines you find on google they got some people who are just there to help. I had a number for a guy who helped my friend a few months a go but I forgot the number. But what seemed to help my friend was have someone to talk to about it. Anyways I never have been addicted to any type of pain meds so I wouldn't be able to say from direct experience.

  • @WildSecks I appreciate your kind words and advice. I should probably make some type of follow up video cause I've now been off all pain meds for over a year now, I got off them in February of 2010. I agree that talking about it is the most important thing, thats why I made my videos about my condition and different perils. Glad you are off them too, its a horrible way to live. Again, thank you for your caring remarks, it means a lot to get support from people I don't even know.

    Peace,

    J

  • I've been on painkillers for awhile aswell and I'm just now in the process of tapering down. Quiting painkillers is probably one of the hardest things to do. People say smoke weed? With the pain your in and especially when your weening down on MG's the weed will have no effect at all. It won't do anything. When I was withdrawling from painkillers I could have smoked an entire ounce of weed and it wouldnt have helped at all. Thats how bad my pain was.

  • @MrSaturdayNight7 Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to taper, I did it cold turkey back in February of this year. I agree, the symptoms of withdrawal are SO intense, I tried smoking a couple times during and because of the intensity of the symptoms it barley touched a thing. I agree that quitting was one of the hardest thing I've EVER had to do, and I've had 6 surgeries since I was 15, cut straight down the middle 4 times and have no intestine, rectum, colon. Just a permanent Ostomy

  • @MrSaturdayNight7 @Assassinator41 I got addicted because I was on them for 10 years of Ulcerative Colitis and so many surgeries, but I can honestly say being without them and off them makes me feel like there is once again purpose to my life and has opened my eyes to life outside of it. Its the best thing I could have ever done for myself and thats why I've become a huge activist for making sure people don't just go on them even once, the risk are to great.

    Peace,

    J

  • In Georgia, they have to take you at the emergency room, so you don't need insurance. I was hit by a car 16 years ago and only take mild pain meds. I refused to take too many pills even though I've been in pain, but regardless, you're situation. GET TO REHAB!!!! OR DIE!!!

  • I got prescribed oxy 40s & then 80s 5 years ago when I fell off a scaffold. Here we are 5 years later & im still on pain meds(30s) cauz i have no insurance for detox or rehab & i looked @ paying cash for a short term rehab & it was 1800 a day. The most i can go is a day without them if im lucky but its tough it really is but im so tired of this shit. I feel in my mind I know I can do it but especially when ur out of work & they're available, I gotta find a way.

  • @Assassinator41 Yea I probably should have checked when this was posted lol. Anyway I'm happy to hear it worked out for you.
