This is a preview of the first game i made using Kodu Game Studio on Xbox 360., its not the best but im a Kodu noob,

Sorry about the poor quality, i don't have a video capture card.

It didn't take long to do and is fairly easy so enjoy and comment!

  • I really like the level design! I got some great game mechanics I'm working on for a game of my own I'm mainly worried that my level design won't be very good. Any tips?

Also, doesn't it seem fickle that the temperature gauge seems so limiting? The 360 can do some amazing things, a simple game like this shouldn't have such a low overhead, but whatever it's still pretty awesome.

  • Thanks, on the level design tips just don't worry let your imagination flow that's what i did, just think about what you want and do it :).

yeah the gauge is a big downfall it stops us from making bigger games but i suppose its only a XNA game.

  • i just finished my second level its a small game very simple, all you need to do is kill fish o get point to win but i made it co-op ill get a video when i can but untill then add me on XBLA and check it out.

  • Good job ;)

    I'm working on my 2.5 D platform. When I'll finish it, I'll send you a video! ;)

  • thanks, i look forward to seeing it :D

  • @agentgamma got a link for that?

  • Got the PC version from the Microsoft website. Its a LOT of fun, even if my game sucks xD

  • x when on a object then it says something like display or hide health

  • its rudimentary and there needs to be some severe optimisation done to it.

  • id love to see the Rpg world sir :)

  • add me: RSA13

  • Don't let your level become too cluttered by trying to put too many things on it.

Choose a ground colour that makes it easy to see everything. (unless you're hiding something in a puzzle game etc)

as for the temperature, i always use camera tricks... use mountains to act as "walls" to the world, but beyond the top of them, i just completely cut it all, if you can't see the other side of the mountain, no point in keeping it. It's a very useful way to save space and i've made huge places

  • u press X on the object and then select "show hitpoints"
