I never drove while I lived in Britain but yes, it is true... that being said if you went there you'd find far far far fewer SUVs and trucks, and the ones you did see would be a LOT smaller. Even regular cars are a lot smaller and, from what I gather, gas milage of 40 mpg isn't uncommon there... high gas prices have their advantages in a twisted sort of way
