Playing Ability Test, level 2, section 7a, Frozen Rail Drill #3.

Set up the balls 1-6 as shown, frozen to the rail at the diamonds. Shoot each ball into the nearest corner pocket. Simple, right? Try it!!

This video recorded on location at FastMikie's Fun House, Del Mar, CA.

  • do you have too shoot the 1 first, than the 2 and than the 3 ball, or can you shoot the 1 than the 4 and than the 2?

  • you must shoot the balls in rotation: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

  • On the 5 ball how did you hit the rail first with the cueball with running English? I tried to duplicate your 5 ball shot, and kept scratching with that type of angle when using running English.

  • if you hit the rail first on the 5 ball, then the cue ball will not come around like it does here, so you have to hit the ball first, with follow and lots of left.

  • I use a Samsara cue, #1676.

The pockets are standard for the Gold Crown IV.

  • On a UK or Irish pool table alot of the shots you did here wouldn't have worked. the balls and pockets are more like a snooker table so rail shots are very difficult.
