    Why do they place the heart in the middle of the chest in those animations, I feel mine is located behind my left pectoral. Am I wrong?

    The heart is directly in the middle of your chest, You get that feeling because the the heart is slightly turned . Put your fist in the middle of your body, then rotate it about 30 degrees , thus the sensation of it being to one side.
