The Toyota Trueno (AE86) body for the HPI Sprint 2 Drift Sport remote control car.

Painted with rattle cans from Spaz Stix.
Colors change Purple, Green, Orange and Gold.

It does show mostly purple and green, but believe me the orange and gold are in there too.

This is before I backed it with gloss black, which makes the colors show a lot more.
Also, a storm was rolling in and blocked the sun or it would have been brighter.

Finished pics can be seen here:

  • hey i used the same type of spaz stix paint (orange, red, purple, gold) and did about 6 coats before backing it with the gloss black and it didnt come out nearly as vibrant or bright as yours. What was your method brotha?

  • @muscleammo

...i used 2 spray cans. directions say you should get 2 bodies per can. but it also says the more coats you do, the better the color and effect. i then backed with a gloss black.

unfortunately, since there was so much paint on it and i used the wrong type of paint to back it, it's all chipped off the lower portion of the body from the plastic flexing on impacts. some day i'll strip all the paint and redo it but for now i just use another body.

  • wat steps did u take to make it look like that

  • @jayon101

clean body with dish soap to remove any oils or debris and dry with lint-free towel, air dry, can use hair dryer

apply window masks or liquid masking or just tape, shake spray can, spray evenly in light coats,

use hair dryer to completely dry paint before spraying another coat,

when you're done back with a proper color

(white for bright/neon colors, black for deep color, gold or silver for metallic or pearl)

use paint made for lexan plastic!
