If we cannot run the inverter to the welding machine that we will have to bypass the AC power supply on the welding machine and go into the DC portion of the machine to perform the same functions as if it was plugged into the AC. Before we do that we would try this simple way first using our inverter to simplify the installation.

Get yourself a inverter that can handle the weilder and put the weilder in the trunk of the car and run a line to get the savings it can bring and/or power enhansment.

That is my plans I have a New Inverter that can go up to 200 amps 15 V but I have to check with the dealership first to make sure the alternator can handle the power draw without straining the alternator and burning out the windings. You have the same idea thanks for your suggestion.

You demonstrate what here? The engine is running in backup mode that is why its running rough, the check engine light is on, engineers designed it that way.
