  • I appreciate the effort, but as a Canadian and graduate of FSU, and attendee of several baseball games, those are not the words to Canada. Close, but no cigar!

Oh Canada, our home and native land, true patriot love, in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see the rise, the true north strong and free. from far and wide, oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee. God keep our land, glorious and free. oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee, oh Canada we stand on guard for thee.Learn it love it.

  • We know they aren't the correct CURRENT words, it's an older one though. And since those are the lyrics originally sung, those are the lyrics that the tradition requires.

  • @Adolph1857 UF used a founding year from the actual date of purchasing the land used. So FSU decided to do the same, which was 1851. Older sister mentality more like it...

  • FSU fans are top shelf. Gig 'em

  • Hey...just saw the post below...didn't realize the guy passed...RIP...but I still think I'm right.

  • By the way...the FSU I attended was founded in 1857. Why is it 1851 now? Well, just guessing it has something to do with UF's founding date and the "little sister" mentality that has always existed at FSU...

  • OK...let's not have some "zookeeper" who probably wasn't born when the tradition started make up fictitious reasons for why "Oh Canada" is sung at FSU baseball games. My recollection was that it started after the marine color guard flew the Canadian flag upside down during the 1992 World Series game between the Braves and Bluejays. Why? Because the section B crowd thought it was funny.

  • Wow. My name is Drew Hankin. This is NOT one of the answer to one of my life's great mysteries.

  • @sectionb Well, idk, im just a young kid and that's what my dad has always told me... Then again he is a lying bastard LOL i think your right!

  • @HunnyXCakeforever That would be incorrect. It began in 1988 exactly the way it described in the video.

Florida State hasn't ever had a 2nd baseman from Canada

  • @sectionb oh wow really? that's pretty cool.. like going back in time xD
