If you're not gaming, is 60Hz enough for an HDTV? Viewer Ash doesn't play games on his HDTV, and rarely watches sports, so would a 60Hz display be a good way to get a bargain? Watch the video to find out if you need to bump it up to 120Hz for a good picture.

  • what would be the best number of hertz for gaming like first person shooting because my friend has a tv and its a mili second slow

  • @ChevyPower698 not sure. I though in equivalent frames a human can subconsciously see over 200 frames. A 60hz strip light in the office doesn't flicker to the naked eye but your brain registers it and that's why low refresh CRT and these lights gives you a headache. Not saying an LCD flickers at 60 frames, they don't but the frame pauses are noticeable and reduce the smoothness of the overall picture. Personally im happy with 75hz and just want LCD smear gone for good !

  • @meggerman 120hz decreases mouse lag since it can refresh more under the same vertical sync. Artifacts are created by a failing GPU.

  • The human eye can only register 60-85Hz. So buying anything above that is a waste of money. Yeah, maybe the T.V. can put out more, but your eye can't pick it up, so you won't see the difference. Any comment on this?

  • How about hdtvs that state they are 50 hertz? Are they any good for gamin on console eg ps3?

  • @milodaman2 he said,24pfs(original movie frames/s) x 10 =240Hz

  • 120hz for gaming is smoother? but more artifacts and more input lag so you lose more.

  • @Mailrobot You mean console games, right?

  • So is 60mh good for gaming?? I can get a 42" 1080p for onlyy $390 but would be no use to me if i couldnt game ! Please respond! :)

  • @milodaman2 60hz x 4 = 240hz....maybe that's what he meant

  • @UTube4588 yes in gaming it isnt capped to a certain picture count per second so you can have the bigger the better. Hope that helped :)

Its a HUGE diference from 60hz to 120hz when playing fps games

  • 1:05 He's gotta be kidding. The same multiple of 24?

    60hz is not a multiple of 240hz?

  • @UTube4588 yes plasmas are better for gaming than LCD or LEDs

  • thank u

  • awwww ive upset her .. sorry sean :'( and to Mailrobot the Panaonics Plasmas 600hz subfield is 10 ubfields @ 60hz/subfield making them perfect for a game like Call of Duty Black Ops which runs at 60fps

  • @m3dication NO ONE CARES !!

  • Actually, I have read that for gaming, since games are natively 30fps, 120hz would create lag input, making 60hz the best setting for video games.

  • I Play Black Ops on a Panasonic G10 lemme tell you phenominal my k/d is 3.45 win ratio 5.11 sens @ 7 connected with monster 17g transfer cables standard cat 5 ethernet 5ft by far the best gaming tv ive had/used.. used aquos 120, used aquos lcd with 4ms refresh rate, sasung dlp, used viewsonic, ive used a handfull of tv's and no lie G10 hands down the best.

  • @UTube4588 but do u play cod and i play on a 10 senseitivity with a kdr of 1.83 i dont want it to go down =(

  • @killerkhalsa27 i bought an tv with 200 hertz, and it looks great for watching tv and for gaming.
