This is nothing new, it's a design rip off of the original Hegeman speaker from the 70s. Virtually the same type of reflective spheres are used in both designs to achieve an omnidirectional sound field.
Morrison Audio makes a modern version of this classic Hegeman design that far outperforms the Mirages, albeit at a substantially higher price.
