The "educational" system in the USA is a tragedy. The dumbing down of america has been a huge success. My hope is in homeschooled kids who actually use their brains and study maps.

Of course the cure cannot be found without the root cause; The cause whom you so eloquently pointed out. There's a doctor in the house and hell if the world wouldn't be better with more like him after he moves into the white one.

From what I understand of the current system education has been replaced with teaching to a test. If this is indeed true, perhaps in those changes lay the answer. First, locating the U.S.A. on a map was not on the test, and secondly.. not learning to be educated children haven't learned the art of discovery minimizing the chances of them picking up that information on their own.
