Rex Allen Jr.'s hauntingly beautiful recording of Lying in My Arms from 1975. Son of the famous singing cowboy Rex Allen, Rex Allen Jr. was a regular on The Statler Brothers Show (aired on The Nashville Network 1991 - 1998) and performed this song on the show. He hosted the spin-off series Yesteryear as well.

Other releases of Lying in My Arms are by Jessica James and Dottsy.

  • This happened to come on my MP3 player dock the other day and the person with me said 'Please play that again and who's singing the song?'

Rex Allen Jr is one of the greatest voices to ever grace Country music. Why, I've even forgiven him for not including a name check for Marty Robbins on his 'Can You Hear Those Pioneers!'

  • Great song. Love the beautiful and classy music that follows.

  • @HurtClassic Oh yes!, now I know :) It's only now that I've heard Rex Allen Jr's version :) I was 15 then. Thanks again!

  • @HurtClassic Now I know it! Thank you! It's only now that I've heard Rex Allen's version :).... Thanks again! By the way is there a song "Just For Her", I'm not really sure of the title but it is an instrumental one similar to Nadia's theme, Benjie's theme and Vera's theme I think. Been wishing I could hear this again... also in the 70's

  • Thanks for putting this on ... I have so many albums by him...his voice is amazing...

  • Bet Ed Bruce listened to this guy..........

  • Rex should have been a super star. The best there is except maybe for Rex Allen Sr. Two of the best voices ever put on the planet.

  • Great song by a great singer...
