This name only applies to transient orca. Not too residents who are fish eaters or Offshores who don't eat marine mammals either.

True that.

no they're deffo orcas alright. killer whales are larger, a different shaped, they also have different colouring (under their dorsal fin and behind their eye) and most prominant is their dorsal fins, they're alot higher than False killers (0.9 and 0.23 are very good examples, theyre more than likely males too) Look up false killers on youtube. they are similar i'll grant you that, probably just because of their dark colour, but this video is definitley of real killers.
-
but they aren't... they are FALSE orcas.
-
they're clearly orcas..
-
well its quite an appropriate name really, because they are whale killers..
-
except Beluga whales!
-
or midgets to little people, or dwarfs to midgets
and i bet they are so mad that people call them killer whales, are they gonna do a strike?are they going to protest their rights?
dont hink so.

Those aren't Orcas, that is a Dall's White Sided Porpoise pod.
it was incredible. I've been waiting many years to finally see killer whales in monterey bay.Quite a memorable trip. It's unfortunate that they were feeding on a baby gray whale, but that's what happens in nature, & they also had a family to feed. Fortunatly it wasn't gruesome out there or anything.
