"09:11 Zulu - Special Forces in Afghanistan" documentary on Dutch and US Special Forces in Uruzgan, the central province of Afghanistan. Filmmaker Vik Franke rode with the Dutch Special Forces for almost two months, hunting for Taliban. For a couple of days he sat in the back of an American HumVee of the US Special Forces. Of several fire fights he experienced, the massive ambush in which 25 Special Ops operators were confronted with an overwhelming 140 taliban fighters was the most intense experience. They attacked from distances of 7 to 38 meters. Filmmeker Vik Franke ran out of batteries after having shot footage for 1,5 hours and picked up a gun and shot back at the enemy. Franke was lieutenant platoon commander in the 80's, also the commando's instructed him on all weapons. The impact on his soul from this experience is depicted in his new documentary "On Killing", soon to be released.
