Cortona has a history that goes back 2500 years to Etruscan times. It grew to its present size between the 13th and 15th centuries, when it was a colorful and crowded city. And while an extremely popular travel destination for Americans today, Cortona's rustic and gritty personality survives. • We stayed in Cortona for three nights back in July 2008 - its a wonderful town. I would love to go back.

  • Where is the fountain shown in Under the Tuscan Sun that the blonde danced in?

I'll be there in May and I want to see it.

  • Great piece!

  • Good work. Thanks for insights into this Tuscan town!

  • Beautiful view, but I'm a little surprised they have no Earth flag to fly as well.
